| Remember that these instruments do not "shoot" a backsight. They simply load a known azimuth up into the Horizontal OBS of the instrument when the instrument is aimed at this backsight azimuth (target).
On page 1 of the main screen, you must use the key. Click the key and make sure that your coordinates for the N0,E0,Z0 are for your station. If you want to use a known coordinate, then highlight one of the fields in station and hit and you can select from a list of keyed in or uploaded coordinates. Repeat this process for the backsight. The backsight (on the bottom half) will be designated by NBS,EBS,ZBS. Again, hit to bring in known coordinates. When this data is complete, then hit ok from the Set H angle screen. Now it will say Take BS. Sight on your backsight target and hit . It will now show the known azimuth between your station and backsight. Hit the key and now the HAR should read the correct azimuth. You should now be ready to start collecting data or staking out. |
